Jourdanton police officer arrested, placed on leave

On Thursday, October 2, the Jourdanton Police Department learned that an arrest warrant had been obtained by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office for the arrest of Wade Middleton, who is a Sergeant with the Jourdanton Police Department. The complaint charges Sgt. Middleton with the offense of Injury to a Child, which is a third degree felony in the State of Texas.

Sgt. Middleton was placed on non-paid leave from the Jourdanton Police Department on Saturday, October 3, pending the outcome of this case.

Sgt. Middleton is an eight year employee of the Jourdanton Police Department, where he has successfully served in different capacities ranging from patrol officer to investigator.

“While no law enforcement agency likes to see any of its officers arrested or charged with a crime, we do not shy away from holding our officers accountable for their actions and look forward to a fair and equitable resolution in this case for all involved parties, “said Chief Eric Kaiser.

The Jourdanton Police Department will continue to stay in contact with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office as this case works through the judicial system
