Jourdanton PD makes Meth arrest

Jourdanton Officers continued hitting the streets to address the problem of drug trafficking and their hard work resulted in another drug arrest.

When Officer Steven Faz conducted a traffic stop late Sunday night, he detected several indicators that the driver may be involved in illegal activity.

Jourdanton K9 Officer Troy Walter and his partner Leo, along with a JPD Narcotics Officer came to assist and Leo quickly alerted on the violator’s vehicle.

Inside the vehicle officers allegedly found 19 grams of methamphetamine, a small amount of marijuana and a semiautomatic handgun.

The driver, identified as Mark Anthony Dillard, was arrested and charged with Manufacturer/Delivery of a Controlled Substance 4-200 grams, a 1st degree felony. He was also charged with Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon and Possession of Marijuana, Class A and Class B misdemeanors. Dillard was remanded to the custody of the Atascosa County Jail.

Chief Kaiser complimented each officer involved for their “excellent work in continuing to purge our streets of illegal drugs.”
