On Monday, Nov. 4, Jourdanton Police Officers executed a search warrant in the 400 block of Maple St. The residential structure proved to be a challenge for officers to search due to the health risks that officers faced from extremely unsanitary conditions, which included a lack of running water or electricity and an accumulation of debris that has occured over a long period of time. Despite those issues, officers recovered methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and retail merchandise suspected of being obtained in a theft. Two individuals present at the location were placed under arrest. Spencer Palacios was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance 4-200 grams and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Sara Delgado was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Fail to Identify/Fugitive. Both were transported and remanded to the custody of the Atascosa County Jail. The police department is now working with city code enforcement staff to abate the numerous code violations at this location. Chief Kaiser gave accolades to Sgt. Timothy Sawicki and Sgt. Investigator Mari Kaufman who led this investigation and to Lt. Santos Gonzales and Officer Carlos Contreras who assisted in this case.
