On October 22, Jourdanton FFA member Abbie Lanier attended the National FFA convention in Indianapolis, Indiana. While serving as the Area X Association first Vice President, Abbie was able to attend National Convention to serve as a voting delegate for the state of Texas along with other Area Officers from across the state. Delegates attended business meetings, listened to numerous keynote speakers, and served on committees to consider implementing changes presented to improve the organization. Past Jourdanton FFA students Ryan House and Tyler Pearson also traveled to Indianapolis for the convention. They were able to apply and successfully receive the distinguished American FFA Degree: the highest degree offered in the FFA organization. Both Ryan and Tyler walked the stage to receive their degree along with recipients from across the nation. All guests were invited to attend as President Donald J. Trump gave a speech addressed to the National FFA Organization. Overall the trip proved to be very successful and was definitely a valuable learning experience for all who attended.
