With the clock winding down and the game on the line, junior Anaya Gonzales knocked down the jumper as time expired to give Jourdanton the win last Tuesday.
The 44-42 win gave the Squaws their 11th victory early in the season.
Junior McKinley West led all scorers with 15 points. Senior Emma Dorroh followed her up with 13 points to go along with four steals. Junior Mallory Vickers and freshman Hailey Satterfield also contributed with four points and two steals each.
The Squaws looked to carry their momentum throughout the week into their game against Three Rivers. Despite a valiant effort, Three Rivers outlasted Jourdanton, winning 49-44. Dorroh finished the game with a triple-double, racking up 17 points, 12 steals and 10 rebounds. Vickers pitched in with 10 points, four rebounds and two steals.
Following the two games, the Squaws currently have an 11-3 overall record and have already surpassed their win total from the 2020 season.
Jourdanton hosted Orange Grove Tuesday night. Results were not available in time and will be provided next week. The Squaws will travel to Natalia next Tuesday for a 6:15 p.m. tipoff.
