The first Sunday in March always finds the members and directors of the Jourdanton Chamber of Commerce very busy as they make their final preparations for the annual BBQ and Auction. They want to invite everyone to come and enjoy good food and have fun bidding on items in support of the chamber.

As always, the event will be at St. Matthew’s Hall on March 1 with the delicious barbecue chicken lunch to be served beginning at 11 a.m. Call or go by the library if you need a ticket or hit up one of the chamber directors or members for some. There are only 500 available. The price is $10.

The silent auction will start at 11 a.m. while the live auction will begin at 12 noon. Several items are waiting for the live auction block and include a Yeti cooler, adult and kids bicycles, a Gladys Boutnagel painting, patio cooler, peanut brittle, plants in unique containers and more being received daily.

The silent auction will also include plants, collectibles and some unique items. And, as last year, the “Buy It Now” table, which opens at 11, will have items that you can pick up on the go if there is no time, or just don’t want to go through the bidding process.

This annual event is the chamber’s main fundraiser which allows them to complete projects, or help other organizations complete theirs, that improve the town and put back into the community to help build for a better tomorrow. Even when there are no major projects in the works, the chamber still supports the community by helping others. With several ideas for potential projects, the chamber always appreciates the support they receive from the community.

So please join the chamber this Sunday for some great food and auction action while helping them help the community.
