Looking to climb their way towards the top of the district, Jourdanton picked up a crucial win against Poteet Friday evening.

The Lady Aggies were on a roll, having won their last five matchups. However, the Squaws were also on a streak of their own. With the regular season winding down, both teams are looking to secure a playoff spot in 27-3A.

Jourdanton took control of the match in the first set, winning 25-12. Poteet answered back by winning the second set 25-16. Following a timeout from the Squaws in the third set, Poteet was unable to stop their attack at the net. Jourdanton went on to win the third and fourth set to take the match. With the win, the Squaws improved their win streak to six matches. Jourdanton Head Coach Joella Gallegos said the key to their momentum has been consistent effort.

“We’ve just really been preparing for finishing out district strong and looking forward to postseason,” Gallegos said. “So just knowing that no matter who our opponent is, we’ve got to prepare to be our best regardless of who we’re playing.”
