Jourdanton All-Stars take second place

The Jourdanton Little League Junior Baseball All-Stars brought home second place at the Texas West Section 3 tournament, which concluded on Monday, July 11.

Jourdanton opened the tournament by routing Reagan County 16-1 on July 8.

They would go on to face Alamo Heights in the second round, losing 5-0 on July 9 to fall into the loser’s bracket.

Jourdanton would find their way to the championship round by edging out Medina Valley 5-3 on July 10 to set up a rematch with Alamo Heights the next day.

Jourdanton came close to forcing a decisive seventh game, but eventually fell 13-11 to Alamo Heights.

Jourdanton had the second-best run differential of the tournament at -10. Only Alamo Heights had a better differential at -12.

“They represented Jourdanton Little League and the Jourdanton community with class, pride and heart,” Jourdanton Little League said in a statement.

Alamo Heights advances to the Texas West state tournament in Abilene July 23-26.
