Atascosa County primary candidates have a new way to stay on the top of voters’ minds through The Pleasanton Express “Hats in the Ring” listing.
Hats in the Ring is a static ad listing that runs each week between Jan. 15 and the March 3 primary. The cost is only $300 for the entire series regardless of when you start. Placement is done on first come, first serve basis, so candidates will want to sign up early for best placement and pricing. Candidates that sign up by Monday, Jan. 13 will be included in the inaugural edition, allowing them to reach critical voters for as little as $43 per week. Candidates that participate in Hats in the Ring for the 2020 primary elections, will have the option for discounted pricing and enhanced placement in Hats in the Ring for the General Election.
“While we encourage candidates to also explore our other advertising options, this is one listing they want to be sure to be included,” said Noel Wilkerson Holmes, publisher. “The Pleasanton Express is your local and credible tool to help reach crucial and undecided voters.”
In today’s society, newspapers play as important a role as ever when it comes to reaching voters. In fact, research shows:
• 92-percent of all registered voters read a newspaper either in print or online at least once a week.
• 64-percent read a newspaper daily or several times a week.
• Nine out 10 newspaper readers cast ballots in presidential election years.
Reading a newspaper cuts across party lines and is one of the few things in which all parties and genders agree. In fact, 93-percent of Republicans; 93-percent of Democrats and 90-percent of Independents; 91-percent of men and 87-percent of women are regular newspapers readers as compared to 60-percent of Americans who have never used Facebook. Bottom line – voters read and readers vote.
