It is with great sadness that the family of John Douglas Craig, Sr. announces his passing on July 13, 2019 at his home in San Antonio. John graduated from East Central High School in 1968. After graduation, John served in the Air Force Reserves, and then began his 39 year career with Frito Lay. In his early years, John enjoyed hunting and fishing, but later in life he preferred hunting for bargains, and could not pass up a garage or yard sale without stopping to browse a while. It is difficult to imagine him not being around for family game night on Fridays, or sitting down to watch old westerns with his pal, Uncle Kenneth. His sense of humor, kindness and wit will truly be missed by his family and friends.
John is survived by his mother, Lillie Hassey, sons John Craig Jr. and wife Christi, Jason Craig, and Daniel Grimes and wife Jennifer, daughters Amanda Saenz and husband Ian, and Ariel Craig, sister Joyce Ronco and husband Steve, brother Gary Craig and wife Chris. Pawpaw will also be missed by his eight precious grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 38 years, Patricia Craig, father, Douglas Craig, and his step father Milam Hassey.
Visitation was on Tuesday, July 16 from 2-8 p.m. at the Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton, the family was present from 5-7 p.m. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, July 17 at 10 a.m. at the Harmony Baptist Church in San Antonio, and burial will follow at the Jourdanton City Cemetery.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to Harmony Baptist Church, 12088 Old Corpus Christi Hwy, San Antonio, Tx, 78223
