Jason Scogin




 

 

Jason Milton (J.M.) Scogin was born in Christine on December 24, 1932 and passed away in Jourdanton on March 24, 2012.

He and his family moved to Pleasanton when he was 3 and lived out his life here. He completed the 11th grade and then worked for a while at Kelly Field before joining the Army in 1953. Upon returning to Pleasanton he became a dairy farmer. He was a strong family man who doted on his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Billie Flora Scogin; sons: Thomas Milton Scogin and wife Deborah, John Michael Scogin and wife Cynthia Kappelmann Scogin, Patrick Ray Scogin and wife Debra Jan; daughter Billie Vaughn Miller and husband Robert. He is also survived by a brother Guy Edward Scogin, Jr and wife Joan and sister Edna Merle Scogin. He is also survived by grandchildren Jason Scogin and wife Ariceli, Mindi Scogin, Taylor Scogin and wife Kristen, Jeremy Scogin, Barret Jacob and wife Deanna, Skye Anderson, Ronnie Miller, Shelley Nabors and husband Jason, Spencer Freeman and wife Sherice, Logan Freeman and wife Stephanie, and 12 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Guy Edward Scogin, Sr. and Beulah Vaughn Scogin and his sister Rebecca Margaret Boatright.

Visitation was held at Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton from 2 – 8 p.m., the family received friends and family from 5 – 7 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2012. Funeral services were held at Hurley Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2012. Burial followed at Christine City Cemetery in Christine, with Military Honors.
