James Green Duncan passed away on December 1, 2019 in Jourdanton.
He was born on November 1, 1940 to James Fulton and Mary S. Duncan in Poteet and raised in Tilden.
James worked in the oilfield all of his life, taking him all over the country and the world. He lived in Louisiana for 30+ years working in the oilfield and met his wife there. He retired in 1994 to move back to Texas to help his mother with his dad who had become ill.
James loved hunting, fishing, guns and playing music. He was more than willing to teach anyone who was willing to learn about what he knew.
His favorite pastime was talking to people he knew or met about his wife who was the love of his life. People would often say that his eyes would light up every time he spoke about her or when she would walk into the room. The love that he had for her was quite evident and that he felt that he had found his soulmate.
James is preceded in death by his parents Riley and Mary Webb; and his daughter in-law, Nina Duncan.
He is survived by his wife, Susan, of 42 years; his daughter, Rindy Myers (Jason); grandsons, Fallon and Landon Evans, and Parker Duncan.
Visitation was conducted at Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton on Tuesday, December 10 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral service will also be at the Hurley Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 11 at 11 a.m., followed by interment at the Hilltop Cemetery.
