Jack Kenneth Duren of Jourdanton, passed away October 16, 2017 at the age of 83. He was born January 21, 1934 in Laredo to Abner and Anna Mae (Young) Duren. Jack was a rancher, a heavy equipment operator, a stock broker and spent over 30 years teaching for Jourdanton, Poteet and Charlotte ISD’s.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Eleanor Lemurle (Cook) Duren of Jourdanton; sons, Mark A. Duren and wife Sheila of Helotes and Bryan Ross Duren of Jourdanton and grandson, Ryan Mark Duren and wife Noranda. Jack is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Aubri Megan Duren and Tate Ryan Duren and beloved nephew, Jack Curtis Powell and wife Patti. He is preceded in death by his parents, Abner and Anna Mae Duren, his sister, Joy Powell and granddaughter, Megan Leigh Duren.
Visitation was at Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton of Wednesday, October 18 from 5 – 7 p.m. Graveside services were at Jourdanton City Cemetery on Thursday, October 19 at 11 a.m.
