Isabel Medrano Gomez, born June 6, 1929 in Poteet to Pablo Medrano and Maria De La Luz Medrano, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 surrounded by her family at the age of 89 years.

Mrs. Gomez was preceded in death by her husband, Santiago Alcorta Gomez, III and son, Fernando Gomez.

She is survived by her children, Gloria G. Fernandez (Jesse W.), Raul M. Gomez, Rudolfo M. Gomez, Carmen G. Zamora (Rudy), and Amalia “Molly” Gomez; 10 grandchildren; 19 greatgrandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; also numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends.

Mrs. Gomez loved spending time with family. She was strong in her faith and turned to Christianity for her salvation. She enjoyed gardening and visiting the local Goodwill Stores. On the weekend, she would go with her son, Roy and eat breakfast, and then go treasure hunting at the thrift stores. She would also visit the local malls making a day of the outing. She worked at the Poteet Strawberry Festival for over 20 years. Family would gather with Mrs. Gomez at the Taqueria Mexico to celebrate her birthday every year and will continue this tradition in her honor. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation took place on Tuesday, May 14 at 4 p.m. at the Camero Funeral Home. A Prayer Service was held on Tuesday Evening at 7 p.m. at the Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will take place on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 10 a.m. at the Camero Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Madre Dolorosa Catholic Cemetery in Poteet.
