Johnny Huizar, City Manager Pleasanton, was sworn in by Senator Pete Flores (SD19) at Thursday’s Pleasanton City Council Meeting. Huizar was appointed by Governor Greg Abbott to the Texas Municipal Retirement System. Huizar joined the Board with a term set to expire on February 1, 2023. The board oversees the Texas Municipal Retirement System, which is responsible for providing a secure retirement benefit plan for eligible employees of more than 800 cities.
