Help send Pleasanton BPA to Nationals

The Pleasanton High School Chapter of Business Professionals of America (BPA) is gearing up for national competition in Anaheim, CA on May 1-5. This year, Pleasanton is sending eight students along with their advisor to the National competition and is in need of sponsorships.

Donations are being accepted to cover travel expenses for this event, which includes transportation, room, registration fees and meal money. The club’s goal is to raise $10,000 by this Friday, April 19.

Students from PISD that are advancing are Dylan Acuff, Shelby Henson, Mackenzie Pilgrim, Justin Rangel, Madeleine Guajardo, Ann Levchyk and Alaina Dickson.

Pilgrim broke the record in being the first PISD student to qualify for Nationals in two different events. Dickson, Guajardo and Olivarri earned the Statesman Torch Award recognizing their service to their school, community, and personal development.

Olivarri earned the Statesman of the Year Award for Region 2 for having the most Torch Award points in the San Antonio Area and was elected by the Texas delegation as the State Parliamentarian for the Texas Association of Business Professionals of America. She will represent BPA on the State Officer Team from March 2019 through March 2020.

BPA is a national organization that prepares students for world-class workforce through the advancement of leadership, citizenship, academic and technological skills. BPA has more than 51,000 members in over 2,300 chapters in 25 states. Competing at the National level is truly an honor for members who qualify. An investment in our students is an investment in the future of our workforce.

A donation in any amount is greatly appreciated.

All donors will be featured on the back of a T-shirt that the students will wear at the National Leadership Conference. Checks can be maid payable to PISD and should be denoted with ‘BPA Nationals’ on the memo line.
