Gregg Stephen McAskill entered eternal rest on Tuesday, May 19, 2020, at 2:50 p.m., at the age of 58.

Gregg was born in New Orleans, LA on February 6, 1962 and spent his young childhood in San Antonio. After moving to Jourdanton at the age of 11, he graduated from Jourdanton High School, class of 1981, where he was a stellar athlete lettering for three years in both football and basketball. After high school he entered the construction industry, rising from insulator to Founder and President of M&M Insulation. He became well known in the business, with many considering him one of the best estimators in South Texas.

God fashioned a special guy when He created Gregg. When He was done, He threw away the mold! Although Gregg was not particularly effective at expressing himself with words, his actions always demonstrated his love for others. He was a great friend! Everyone enjoyed being around him because he had a knack for making people laugh. He had a big heart and a sharp mind with a witty and colorful sense of humor. Gregg was a hard worker who didn’t mind getting his hands dirty, especially when helping others. He could be a rebel at times, marching to the beat of a different drummer, but that unique personality made him a problem solver who very often thought outside of the box to get things done. Gregg enjoyed watching UT football and staying current on all Longhorn news through the Orangebloods website. He cared deeply for his family and friends, and he modeled integrity, strength, work ethic, and kindness to all who knew him. He was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend who will be greatly missed by many.

Gregg is survived by his parents, Don and Shirley McAskill; his three daughters, Carlee McAskill, Darby McAskill and Daniela (Alex) Navia; three grandchildren, Carson McAskill, Adeline Navia and Lucah Chiodo; three siblings, Pam (Rick) Clary, Mike (Denise) McAskill and Dr. Glenn McAskill; and four nephews, Drew Clary, Griffin (Morgan) Clary, Heath Clary and Landon McAskill.
