Good luck Megan, we wish you well

The Way I See It

This week marks the last one that our Advertising Manager Megan Benishek will be with the Pleasanton Express.

She will be heading over to South Texas Regional Medical Center as their new Senior Circle/Healthy Woman Director and also assisting in their busy marketing department.

Megan became a part of the Express family in December 2013 and throughout her time here did an exceptional job for the newspaper as well as the community.

We will continue to have the pleasure of working with her and STRMC in their many community health outreaches at the hospital and in the county.

Amanda Velasquez who has worked with the Pleasanton Express since last summer will be adding many of Megan’s accounts to her ever-growing list of clients.

Amanda has proven that she has a keen talent for newspaper advertising sales and is dedicated to helping her clients’ businesses prosper and grow. As a native of Poteet Amanda has a deep love of her hometown and Atascosa County. She has become a much loved part of the Express family and we feel so fortunate to have her as part of the team.

She and her husband, Kevin, have four darling boys Zaiden, Elijah, KC and Silas. They are also expecting a little girl due this summer. We are most fortunate that Mary Gallegos, who retired in 2014 after 32 years, has agreed to provide us with her expertise as an advertising consultant over the next several busy months. Welcome back, Mary!

The way I see it, much like real families, our members spread their wings and leave sometimes. Thankfully, our tree is filled with others who can carry on and our door stays open for those who want to fly back home!

And … if you have the desire to join our team in sales on a part-time basis, please apply! We have room to add more members to our family.

SUE BROWN is the editor of the Pleasanton Express. Contact her at or write at P.O. Drawer 880, Pleasanton, TX 78064.
