Area law enforcement raided an illegal gambling business late Friday night on March 18 in the 600 block on West Goodwin in Pleasanton.

On Friday March 18, Pleasanton Police Department officers and members of the Atascosa County Sheriffs’ Department executed a search warrant at an illegal gambling establishment located in the 600 block of West Goodwin Street. This was the culmination of an investigation conducted by the Pleasanton Police Department Criminal Investigative

Division. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that the business was conducting illegal cash payouts.

Several arrests are forthcoming and the investigation is ongoing. The Pleasanton Volunteer Fire Department and the City of Pleasanton Code Compliance Department also assisted.

“These types of businesses are not good for our community. When you have elderly citizens living on fixed incomes, losing what little money they have on a game of chance that is not regulated by anyone other than the establishment, it places a burden on them, their families and the community. These types of businesses are not welcome in our community,”said Pleasanton Chief of Police Ronald Sanchez.
