A lengthy session is set for this Thursday evening’s Pleasanton City Council meeting. The Texas Municipal League convention, Thanksgiving and a cancelled meeting are the reasons for the 27 items on the agenda.
The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. in the council chambers at the Pleasanton City Hall, 108 Second St.
Some of the items that will be addressed or discussed are the second reading and adoption of Ordinance No. 12-1073 on TMRS Retirement Plan for the City of Pleasanton.
Asst. Chief Rutherford to be recognized
There will also be a special presentation and recognition of Assistant Chief of Police John Eric Rutherford’s 27 years of service to the City of Pleasanton and its citizens followed with a brief reception a social for Rutherford and his family.
The official installation of the new Police Chief of the City of Pleasanton will also take place.
Also on the agenda is the recommendation, presented by Rudy Klein of the Construction Manager at Risk Committee, to select the Construction Manager to complete the Community Center/Library Project. There will be discussion and action to direct the city staff to negotiate an AIA Contract with the Construction Manager to complete the Community Center/Library Project.
The City Council will also read and vote on adopting Resolution No. 115-12 supporting the establishment of a Community Revitalization Plan.
There will also be discussion and action to hire an Administrative Assistant for City Hall Staff.
Also on the agenda
•Discussion and Action authorizing the required documentation of Eminent Domain Authority in Texas to the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts in Compliance with Senate Bill 18. •Discussion and Action on Atascosa County Appraisal District Board’s decision to allocate the budget surplus funds to provide a lump sum merit pay for District employees.
Plats/Easements to be discussed
•Discussion and Action on approval of final plat for Oaklawn Commercial Subdivision (HEB Grocery, LP) – City Engineer.
•Discussion and Action to accept the appraisal for .410 acre tract in the right of way of Preston Street between Oaklawn and Jackson – City Manager and Councilmember Kathy Coronado.
•Discussion and Action on approval of preliminary plat for Phoenix Pleasanton Industrial Park – City Engineer.
Workshop at 6 p.m.
A workshop will be held before the meeting at 6 p.m. to hear a presentation and to discuss the construction of 36 single-family rental homes in the Oak Pointe subdivision by Ana’s Cove, Ltd – Siltek Group. There will also be a presentation and discussion concerning the RV Park Ordinance amendments. Later during the regular meeting, the council will read and vote on Ordinance No. 12-1070 amending the RV Park Ordinance.
Economic Development Corp. meeting
A meeting of the Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors of the City of Pleasanton, Texas will be held after the regular session. Considering and the possibly adopting Resolution No. 116-12 making the Commitment of Funding for Ana’s Cove, Pleasanton, Texas a Firm Commitment of Funds.
