Francisca Luera Edwards 72 passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2019 in Jourdanton. She was born in San Diego to Baleriano and Francisca (Soto) Luera on September 22, 1946. She was a compassionate nurse who was a mental health advocate. Francisca loved dancing, singing and especially tejano music. Included in her talents was her love of jewelry making, crocheting, and sewing, leaving her family with many cherished gifts. Francisca’s greatest love and comfort besides her family was her faith in Jesus Christ. Her family is thankful that she is at rest with him.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Senovio Luera, Baleriano Luera, Jr., Felix Luera and Joe Angel Luera; sisters Juanita Salazar, Marielena Luera, Josefina Vasquez and Teresa Luera.
Francisca is survived by her daughters Sandra Arnold and husband Steven, and Sonia Theis and husband Darrell; grandchildren Bailey Faye Kemple and husband Estefan Tovar, Cheyanne Lauren Theis and fiancé Chance Lange, Hailey Marie Theis, Alexis Emily Theis, Daniel Paul Austin and Alexander Michael Kemple and wife Britny; great-granchildren Maddilyn Mae Kemple and Lincoln Alexander Kemple. She is also survived by her brother Agapito Luera and sisters Alicia Morin, Adelita Luera Celia, Victoria Lopez and Carmen Resendez.
A visitation was Friday, July 12 from 1-8 p.m. with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. at the Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton. Services were concluded at the funeral home.
