Dorothy Haverlah, former City of Pleasanton councilwoman, passed away last Wednesday, March 21. She was 90 years old.

She was appointed and then elected in 1988 to represent District 3.

Haverlah had an uncanny gift to know what was going on in the community at all times before, during and after her council stint. She also provided leadership and guidance to many public servants after her tenure.

A loving wife (she was married to Clydell Haverlah for 53 years until his death in 1999), mother, grandmother and friend, Haverlah will be missed by many.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Edward Haverlah and wife Dana; daughter, Cynthia Harwell and husband Wayne; grandchildren, Page Blanton and wife Jennifer, Whitney Blanton and wife Cristina, Megan Wood and husband Trey, Brian Harwell and Brooke Whittenburg and husband Dustin and great-grandchildren, Jonah and Ruth Blanton, Nolan, Amelia and Fletcher Wood and Daniel Whittenburg.  She is also survived by her nephew Duane Degenhardt and wife Sherry and niece, Ann Terry and husband Hunt.
