“Back in the Day…” – Chase Harrison was one of the Jourdanton Junior High Science and History Club to perform living biographies of early settlers and notables from Jourdanton. He portrayed Sheriff Henry Halff Coward.

New flags at PHS – A brand new pair of flags is now flying on the campus of the Pleasanton High School courtesy of the 1989 senior class. The 8×12 flags, bigger than the ones that were replaced, are shown here being raised by Gina McFarland and Emeri Seewald who were the president and vice-president respectively of the ‘89 class. The graduated seniors also donated benches for the halls and gymnasiums with money raised by various fundraisers.

Jourdanton Cheerleaders- The varsity cheerleaders from Jourdanton High School attended the annual Golden Golf Cheerleader camp held on the campus of the University of Houston, June 10-13. The instructional program for the camp was provided by the National Cheerleaders Association. During the week the cheerleaders learned the latest techniques in leading yells, performing gymnastics, doing skits and stunts, and they were also taught a number of new chants. Big Sails – Mr. and Mrs. Elmo O. Magnum, Poteet, proudly display the sailfish they caught while on vacation recently in Mazatlan, Mexico. Larger sailfish was over 7 ft and weighed in excess of a 100lb. Smaller sailfish was 7 ft and weighed 90lb.

New trinity church building – members of the Trinity Baptist church congregation worship Sunday for the first time in their new $60,000 church building, just recently completed. open house will be held later when all the furniture for the new building has been received.
