Dedication Marker- Atascosa River Regional Park was officially dedicated Saturday morning and here are some of the city officials and guests who were on hand for the ceremony. The marker was unveiled as part of the ceremony.

Five Generations-  It took five generations to celebrate the 86th birthday of Miss. J. M. (Fannie) Rogers here Friday. Mrs. Rogers is a resident of the Cartwheel Lodge and members of her family were here to celebrate the occasion over Thanksgiving holidays. Standing, left to right, are Mrs. Ella Rogers Coble of Abilene; Elaine Coble Hill of Lubbock; Mrs. Rogers left, and little Machelle Ruten and her mother Ella Hill Ruten of Lubbock.

Big Kitty- Game Warden Bubba Reed and Charlie Lott, right, show off a 130-lb. mountain lion killed near Freer Thursday night. The lion, Which measured 7-ft-6 in, was shot by a friend of Bubba’s as both waited near a spot where the lion had previously killed three deer.
