Congratulations to these two Poteet Aggie Band members who were elected into the ATSSB Area Band: Tabitha McIntyre- flute and Moses Belman- tenor saxophone. These students qualify for all-state auditions in Orange Grove on January 10.
Christmas stocking, dolls, candy and toys and yummy food fill the packages to be delivered to deserving families this year. Return your overdue books and pay for your fines with food or new, unwrapped toys.

The Pleasanton Wal-Mart donated $1,000 to the Pleasanton Volunteer Fire Department as part of their Make A Difference project, Oct. 24. The Pleasanton FFA Chapter qualified two individuals to attend the State Leadership Contest held in Hunstcille Saturday, December 5. In Senior Creed Speaking, Lesley Rakowitz (left) placed third. Amanda Heinen (right) placed fifth in Junior Creed Speaking. In the center is Advisor Randy Watt. They would like to congratulate all FFA members who participated in the Leadership events this year.

Heavenly choir of earth angels from the First Baptist Church Child Development Center took part in the Christmas story on Friday evening. In the back row are Jamie Coleman, Chelsie Bloskas, Candace Bartlow and Ashley Haley.
These kids made the floor of the high school gum shake when they jumped for the Cancer Society. Helping to raise close to $3,000 were top money gathers, left to right, kneeling, Anita Gonzales, Wendy Cummings and Jason Skelton. Pleasanton’s freshmen basketball team reached the finals of the Southwest tournament on Decemer 9 and brought back this beautiful second place trophy. Front row, left to right, are Martin Sotello, Clay Rosenbaum, Mitchell Collins, Victor “Cano” Cordova, Angel Garcia, and Michael Rodriguez. Middle row, Erasmo Elizonda, Ricky Lean, Canny Gage, John Jarvis, Jeffrey Korus, Aaron Shely, and Coach James Brock. At the top are Raymond Martinez, Mark Schulze, Tony Sepeda and Dennis Jasik.
Kim Farrer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Asa Farrer and Ray DeSpain, formerly from Pleasanton, are pictured after dancing 12 of the 24-hour TKE Fraternity Dance-A-Thon. Both are students at Sul Ross State University in Alpine, where the fraternity sponsored the dance for Muscular Dystrophy and raised some $4,000 with 34 persons participating. Kim and Ray collected a total of $443.30 for the Dance-A-Thon and each won 10-speed bicycles with their second place win.

PHS senior Pete Powell drives in a two pointer in the championship game with Southside at the Poteet invitational weekend tournament. Eagles clinched the title by defeating Southside 31-19.

Arlene House of Charlotte drives in for a score against the Floresville Jaguars. Charlotte won third place in the Jourdanton invitational tournament last weekend.
