Little Kendal Rush, 3-year-old daughter of Laurie and John Rush, needed extra whipped cream for her pumpkin pie at this year’s Thanksgiving Feast. Each year First Baptist Church Child Development Center hosts a turkey lunch with all the fixings for the children and their parents.

Alyssa Zuniga, a 5th grader in the Jourdanton schools, said she would have never fished the KIDFISH tournament Saturday in Pleasanton if her friend and buddy, Kye Burris (right), had not accompanied her. Not only did Alyssa fish the tournament, she landed a 19 1/2-inch channel catfish that won the 7-11 age division.

Jack Greene’s Poteet High School Building Trades Class donated a kitchen counter top to the Poteet Municipal Parks Foundation, Inc. to be placed in the Canyon Park Pavilion kitchen. Pleasanton Pre-K and Kindergarten students unleash a roomful of balloons which carries anti-smoking messages for the Great American Smokeout to cities far away.

These young students were just a few of the Atascosa County Students who visited Pleasanton’s Longhorn Museum recently. They are pictured here with their teachers and Dr. Ben Parker, founder of the museum at Pleasanton’s Historical Marker.

These four talented Eaglettes captured All District in volleyball. left to right, Betty Brown, Laurie Korus, and Deborah Brown, all made first team and Minerva Llamas was honorable mention. It was the third year in a row that Deborah was All District and two in a row for Laurie and Minerva,
