Pretty Melody Blair of Poteet has been keeping busy with her two show animals, Dumbo the pig and Cash the steer, but took time out to show them off for the camera. She anticipates some trouble from Dumbo at the 35th Annual stock show simply because the two animals have become the closest of friends and Dumbo raises a little ruckus when Cash disappears.

Burglary, robberies and crime is at a near all time low in the county. O. C. Haley, co-captain and center on Poteet’s 1958 grid champions, has been named as the pivot man on the Texas Class A All-State football team selected by the Texas Sports Writers Association.
