Jourdanton FFA student Meagan Kron, age 14, gives her lamb “Alvin” a hug as they get ready for the Atascosa Junior Livestock Show in mid-January. Meagan is an 8th grader at Jourdanton Jr. High School and the daughter of Beverly and Shannon Kron of Christine. She has been getting some experience by participating in area prospect shoes. After Meagan and “Alvin” go to the Atascosa Jr. Livestock Show, they will head to the San Antonio Jr. Livestock Show as their next event.
Coastal Bend College Licensed Vocational Nursing students and the Pleasanton High School Certified Nursing Assistant students participated in a “stress relief” event prior to final exams. They threw water balloons on the side of the building, blew bubbles and let their frustrations go. Each LVN adopted a CNA student for support during the next semester. With four starters lost due to injuries and grades senior Paul Rosalez (right) has taken up the slack and has scores 19 points in each of the Pleasanton Eagles’ last two games which were victories over Holy Cross and Medina Valley.

Students from the CVAE class at Pleasanton Junior High cut and sanded the large wood letters, “Pleasanton City Cemetery,” which have been mounted on the mausoleum. The cemetery previously had no sign denoting its name.
