It’s Fiesta time in McMullen County! The Tilden Livestock Scholarship Association will host its 33rd Annual Spring Fiesta Social Scholarship Fundraiser at the Tilden Lions Pavilion, Saturday, May 8. This signature TLSA fundraising event will offer attendees a dinner, dance, open bar, live and silent auctions, prize drawing and loads of fun.
The event begins at 6 p.m. with a social hour and hors d’oeuvres. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. with a drawing at 8 p.m. The real fun begins at 9 p.m. with dancing to the music of John Conlee & Straight Tequila Nights. A ticket for two is $150 and attendees must be age 21 or over.
The purpose of the TLSA scholarship program is to encourage graduates to continue their education after high school. Since 1990, the organization has awarded more than $435,000 to over 175 high school graduates.
“The Spring Social is one of the main events in Tilden every year and everyone on the board is excited to be able to have it again this year. Especially after not getting to last year due to COVID,” TLSA Board Treasurer Shea Smith-Villareal said. “We have some ground to make since it’s our main source of fundraising for the scholarships we give to the youth of McMullen County, so we’re very excited and hopeful it’ll be successful this year.”
