February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month

February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month and the Pleasanton Express wants you to be informed on how to spread it around our county!

Here are a few dates to be aware of for the upcoming month thanks to the organization known as “Break the Cycle”:

February 10, 2018- “Chalk About Love” Write in chalk on a board, sidewalk, anywhere about what LOVE means to you and post it on social media using the hashtag “#ChalkAboutLove”.

February 13, 2018- “Wear Orange for Love Day” This day marks TDV Awareness Day in which we encourage you to wear orange to spread awareness for TDV and Love!

Another event going on throughout the month is known as “It’s Time To Talk” day in which parents sit down with their children and talk about teen dating violence with them so that they can be aware of it. It’s not just for teens, but everyone!

Keep an eye out in next week’s issue for a story on Teen Dating Violence Awareness, warning signs, statistics, etc.!
