Family fun at St. Luke’s-Loire Fall Festival

Come join the members of St. Luke’s-Loire as they celebrate their 9th Annual Fall Festival on Sunday, October 5, 2014. All are welcomed to celebrate the Sunday morning Mass at 10:30 a.m. This year’s festival will once again be serving their famously tender barbecue brisket and sausage plate with sides of pinto beans, country potatoes, coleslaw with homemade dressing, dessert and iced tea for only $8.00 per plate. Enjoy your meal in the air conditioned hall as you visit with family and friends from the community. To go plates are also available. Meal service begins at 11 a.m. Sunday morning and will continue until 2 p.m.

Admission to the grounds is free! What a great way for the entire family to spend a Sunday afternoon. Inside the hall, grab your partner and dance to the wonderful Polka music provided by the Incredible Music Makers from Flatonia from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. The Silent Auction, open from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m., will give everyone the opportunity to do early holiday shopping. For those with a sweet tooth, stop by the Bake Shoppe and take home some of the yummy home baked goods.

The Super Prize Drawing has a Grand Prize of a $1,000 Visa Gift Card. There are 41 great prizes this year totaling $7,495. Tickets are on sale until the drawing on Sunday at 5 p.m. Your presence is not necessary to win. For just $5.00 a ticket, a fabulous prize could be yours. New this year will be a Special Drawing of a 35 Quart Yeti which will take place at 6 p.m. Tickets are available at the festival.

On the church grounds, Horse and Pony rides will be available all day. The Antique Car Show will provide all with a blast from their past! Other outdoor activities include giant inflatable slide and many games for children of all ages. Shop at the booths of Arts & Crafts vendors and enjoy a variety of your favorite tasty carnival treats.

St. Luke’s-Loire Catholic Church is located at 3930 FM 536 right off IH-37. Traveling north or south on IH-37, take exit 117 at FM536 and turn east. You can see the church from the highway.

Grounds open at 10 a.m. and all activities will be held on the church grounds and in the air conditioned hall.
