Ernesto Santos Sr.

Ernesto F. Santos, Sr. was born on May 9, 1930, to the union of Filberto and Francisca Santos in Poteet, Tx.  Ernesto Santos accepted Jesus Christ and was baptized at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Poteet.  He passed away on January 2, 2017.

Ernesto (Neto) Santos was employed as a truck driver for many years and after retirement he was employed as a bus driver for the Poteet School District.  Neto and Viginia spent many days buying and selling antiques and enjoyed spending their days visiting and meeting new friends.

Ernesto loved family gatherings.  He made sure everyone was invited to his beautiful home where his humble heart was filled with content and joy.  Ernesto demonstrated his love to his children by offering a taco with his own home made hot sauce that everyone enjoyed.  Ernesto was very active and enjoyed nature.  He spent his time outdoors picking his chile pequins from his plants and maintaining his up kept lawn.  

Ernesto had the opportunity to travel for many years.  The one trip he made yearly was to the Basilica at San Juan De Los Lagos to visit his special place of comfort, peace  hope.

Ernesto loved his wife and they were blessed with 66 years of marriage.  He was extremely proud of all his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ernesto is survived by his wife Virginia and five children; Virginia S. Estrada and her husband Conrad of Poteet, Margarita Wallace and her husband Tim of San Antonio, Rachel S. Flores and her husband Raul of San Antonio, Roy Santos of San Antonio, and Ernest Santos, Jr. of San Antonio, 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, his sister Guadalupe Sifuentes and her husband Joe of San Antonio his brother Felix Santos and his wife Elena of Poteet, and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family.

Ernesto was a loving father, husband, grandfather, friend and number 1 Aggies and Cowboys fan.
