Eloy Douglas of San Antonio passed away August 1, 2019 at the age of 70. He was born in Amphion to Raynold and Margarita (Gomez) Douglas on September 12, 1948.
Eloy enjoyed fishing and was an avid hunter. He was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone who needed it. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Eloy cherished going to visit his sister Nellie at the ranch, he always knew she always had sweets for him. He loved educating people on the knowledge he knew and made sure you understood so you wouldn’t forget. He had a quick sense of humor and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Eloy is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Mary M. Douglas; sons, Mark Douglas and wife Lori and Steven Douglas and wife Christabelle; brothers, Luis Douglas and wife Helen and Ray Douglas; sisters, Caroline Trujillo and husband Rigo, Nellie Delgado and Mary Rodriguez and husband Adolfo and sister in law, Luz Douglas. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Matthew, Kyle, Xavier, Isis and Maximus.
Eloy is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Roy Douglas.
Visitation was conducted at Hurley Funeral Home on Monday, August 5 from 2-9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral mass was celebrated on Tuesday, August 6 at 10 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Jourdanton, followed by interment at the St. Thomas Cemetery on Hannon Road.
