After the passing of the initiatives to adopt the Pleasanton Community Center/ Library design previously approved and to close the portion of Main Street directly in front of said buildings many may be wondering what happens next?
According to City Manager Bruce Pearson, it will rely on the reports received on the structures – namely the old Williams Hardware and Dowdy’s clothing buildings. He explained that the Enviromental I study is complete and the results are scheduled to be on the agenda sometime in June.
The Environmental II phase has been ordered. Three soil borings ranging from Goodwin Street to the Dowdy building will be done soon. The boring samples will be used to identify any contaminants of concern.
