Economy sees increase in sales and use tax for AprilFree Access

April’s monthly city sales tax revenue has been released by the state comptroller’s office, and Atascosa County will see a big increase compared to this month last year.

The City of Pleasanton will see the biggest sales tax rebate this month receiving $373,637, which is up 20.03 percent from $311,804 in April 2017. Charlotte and Jourdanton also see big gains this month with Charlotte at a 74.20 percent increase and Jourdanton at a 35.45 percent increase. Lytle and Poteet see slight increases of 1.90 percent and 6.13 percent.

The monthly Atascosa County sales and use tax allocations saw a marked increase payment of 48.94 percent. The net payment for the county was $545,127.31 up from 2017’s check of $365,999.27. This year Atascosa County received the largest net payment to date as compared to the surrounding counties of Bee, Frio, Karnes and Medina.
