Judging for the Ugly Sweater Contest is at 4:30 p.m. and winners will be announced at 5 p.m.

All day events

Merry on Main Event coordinator Laura Calvert said there will also be a variety of all day events. There will be a Christmas tree farm, in which vendors will donate a tree every 30 minutes to needy families. Other events being held all day are pictures with Santa Claus, train rides, arts and crafts for the kids and bounce houses. Music will fill the air and gifts will be given away every 30 minutes plus every hour, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. a $100 gift card will be given away. The Downtown Pleasanton Merchants Association will also be handing out children’s gifts as well.

Then at about 6 p.m. get ready for the excitement of the Ice Fights, as ice sculptors showcase their skills. Watch as they compete and transform blocks of ice into beautiful creations and works of art.

The Annual Christmas Lighted Parade will follow the Ice Fights, starting about 7 p.m. The parade is sponsored by the Atascosa County Sheriff’s Posse, Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce and the City of Pleasanton. Parade watchers will delight in seeing an array of local businesses and organizations, as they deck out their cars and horses in their Christmas lights and holiday best.
