For those who didn’t take advantage of voting early, Saturday’s elections will hopefully see voters heading to the polls in Pleasanton and Poteet. They will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
While a voter registration card is not necessary to vote, a valid photo identification is needed.
699 early voters have cast their ballots for the Pleasanton ISD elections as of Monday.
Vying for District 7 are incumbent Ami Powell and Pete J. Pawelek. Early numbers for District 7 were 128.
Also on the ballot is a $63 million bond to build a new elementary school and to upgrade and improve the other campuses.
Voting boxes are:
Campbellton Community Center – 305 St. Francis Street, Campbellton; Our Lady of Grace Academy, 25 E. 5th Street, Leming; Pleasanton Elementary School Library, 628 N. Main Street, and St. Andrew Catholic Church – St. Anthony Building, 626
City of Pleasanton
As of close of business on Monday, 47 votes had been cast during Early Voting.
There are no opponents for mayor nor the three seats that were vacated due to term limits.
Mayor Clint Powell will continue for another term and the following councilmen will be Eliseo Flores, District 4; Robert Earl Wood, District 5 and Travis Hall, District 6.

City of Poteet
There were 134 early voters for the Poteet municipal elections as of Monday.
Mayor Larry Cantu is facing his opponent Richard Tuttle Sr.
Rick Flores and Rosalinda De La Fuente are vying for Place 4 and incumbent Denise Sanchez is facing Vanessa Saylor for Place 5.
Voting will take place at the Poteet High School Cafeteria, 800 Leming Highway.
The district had 210 early voters as of Monday’s count.
Incumbent Henry S. Ortiz and Bernardo J. Aguilar are vying for Place 3.
Incumbent Steven C. Estrada is facing Jo Marie Aguilar Cervantez for Place 4.
Three candidates are seeking Place 5’s seat – Yvette Navarro, Pete Ochoa Jr. and Hector Vessi.
Voting will also take place at the Poteet High School Cafeteria, 800 Leming Highway.
