Eagles dominate Carrizo Springs on the roadFree Access

The Pleasanton Eagles maintained their unbeaten record with a dominant 49-8 win over the Carrizo Springs Wildcats on the road Friday.

Pleasanton jumped out to a 28-0 halftime lead and scored 35 unanswered points before the Wildcats scored their lone touchdown of the game in the third quarter. Three touchdown passes from senior QB Nathaniel Acevedo to Dalton Hobbs highlighted the Eagles’ dominant run to start the game.

The duo would connect eight times on the night for 203 yards and three touchdowns.

Carrizo Springs was held to 235 yards of total offense, which included -2 yards passing. Tommylee Ramirez and Louis Arguillo made life tough for the Wildcats with 4 1/2 tackles each. They both had one tackle for a loss each.

Pleasanton posted 347 yards of total offense with 244 coming through the air. Acevedo was 10-of-19 for 244 yards. Acevedo was able to operate well thanks to his offensive line allowing just one sack in the win.

Sophomore Joel Arevalo carried the ball 12 times for 66 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Pleasanton (5-0) will return home this week to square off with Kingsville King (1-4) in their nondistrict finale.
