The Pleasanton 7-on-7 football team qualified for state after going undefeated this weekend at the Rockport-Fulton tournament.
The Eagles went 5-0 on Saturday, advancing to the Division II state tournament along with Goliad. Pleasanton won a coin toss with the Tigers to determine the champion.
The Eagles punched their ticket to state with a comeback victory over George West in the semifinals. Pleasanton trailed by 14 before rallying to top the Longhorns 40-33.
The win followed a perfect run through pool play. The Eagles beat Ingleside 35-7, Skidmore-Tynan 40-18, Banquete 36-28 and host R-F 34-14.
The state tournament will be June 29 and 30 at Veterans Park and Athletic Complex in College Station.
