On Friday, Feb. 15, Atascosa County Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit, patrol deputies and criminal investigators shut down another illegal drug dealer in our community.
The Narcotics Unit received a tip about a variety of illegal drugs being sold from a trailer in the Primrose Subdivision, seven miles north of Poteet. After conducting an investigation, a search warrant was requested and issued by Justice of the Peace, Felix Herrera. A team of sheriff’s officers assisted by the SAPD HIDTA Task Force executed the warrant shortly before 4 p.m on Friday.
Sheriff’s investigators seized over one ounce of methamphetamine, 10 grams of cocaine and 3.5 ounces of marijuana along with scales and packaging paraphernalia. Some of the drugs were packaged for individual sale. Deputies arrested 55 year old Delia Escamilla Acevedo, who resides in the Primrose Subdivision.
Acevedo was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance- Methamphetamine over 4 grams; Possession of Controlled Substance- Cocaine over 4 grams; and Possession of Marijuana over 2 ounces and less than 4 ounces. Total bond on Acevedo was set at $88,000 by Judge Herrera.
“My deputies and investigators are working diligently to identify local narcotics dealers in the county who make it easy for users and children to obtain this poison. We have no plans of letting up” said ACSO Sheriff David Soward.
