Dr. Clinesmith named lone finalist for Pleasanton superintendent’s position

Expected start date is Jan. 2nd



In a unanimous 6-0 vote, the Pleasanton ISD School Board named Dr. Cynthia Clinesmith as the lone finalist for the Superintendent position. In accordance with state law, the district must wait 21 days before officially offering Clinesmith a contract.

Dr. Clinesmith currently serves as the Associate Director in the Texas Center for District and School Support through Region XIII Education Service Center. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1978; her master’s degree from East Texas State University in 1984; and her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Texas Tech University in 2007.

Most recently, Dr. Clinesmith has served as the Assistant Superintendent/Administrative Services and Assistant Superintendent/ Academic Services for Lake Travis ISD, Executive Director/Curriculum and Instruction at Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD and as Assistant Superintendent of Marble Falls ISD.

The PISD School Board will hold a special board meeting on Thursday, December 8th at 8: 00am to finalize Dr. Clinesmith’s contract, and her expected start date is January 2nd.
