Dorothy Louise Cooper peacefully passed on March 14, 2018. She was born in Verdi on November 8, 1930 to her parents Jelma and A. C. Cooper.
She spent her early years running interference for younger brother, James E. Cooper. After college she taught in several schools around Texas prior to receiving her master’s degree in education. She finally settled in Salinas, California where she taught high school math until she retired. She loved to travel and had many fond memories and stories of different destinations she visited around the world. She was an avid reader and kept ordering and reading books throughout her life.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, and several members of her four legged family. She is survived by her nieces, nephew and her fur baby, Rusty.
It was Dorothy’s wish not to have a memorial service of any kind but the family acknowledges and appreciates the thoughts, expressed sentiments and prayers offered on her behalf, as well as are thankful to those who provided her friendship and care throughout her life.
