Santa’s visits and night parades scheduled

Set your calendars for visits from Santa, Lighted Christmas Parades and the Christmas Bash for a Cause this weekend.

This Friday, Dec. 13, Poteet will have their Christmas Parade. It will begin at 6:00 p.m. starting at the Poteet High school and will make its way through the neighborhoods, ending at the library. There will be bands, food and refreshment vendors, Santa and the Police Association is going to have Blue Santa. The Parks Board will be doing their famous hamburgers earlier in the day at noon.

Blue Santa will be at Walgreens on December 14 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Santa will then make his appearance at the Pleasanton Chamber Log Cabin due to the downtown construction from 2 p.m. –  p.m.

Later that evening the Atascosa County Sheriffs’ Posse will host their annual lighted Christmas parade that meanders through the streets of Pleasanton. That event starts at 6 p.m. at the Pleasanton River Park.

In Leming, their lighted parade will start at 6:30 p.m. with a visting Santa near the huge Christmas tree. Folks will gather at the fire station for chili, rice, beans, tamales and desserts.

At 8 p.m., head over to Coughran Hall and bring an unwrapped toy ($10 value) to the Christmas Bash for a Cause. Toys and donations will be given to the ACCEPT program and CAM.

Remember, the Charlotte Christmas parade has been rescheduled for Saturday, Dec. 28.
