The Jourdanton Garden Club is proud to sponsor their sixth annual, “Don’t Be a Litterbug Contest” for all children living and/or attending a school in Jourdanton who are in the first-fifth grade.
The organization wants to stop the littering on our beautiful streets and make Jourdanton “litter free’ and green.
First and second graders can submit a poster depicting the theme. Third-fifth graders can also enter a poster for their group.
Third-fifth graders can also write an essay about the topic which should be no longer than 150 words. Be sure to explain why you shouldn’t be a litterbug. The Garden Club will be rewarding first and second prizes in each of the three categories and the winners will be announced on Feb. 26.
The Jourdanton school office or the public library must receive all entries by Feb. 9. Be sure to include your name, phone number and grade with each entry. Please submit only one entry per category, per student.
If you need more information, please go to the Jourdanton Library. Winning entries will be displayed at the public library. Remember, let’s throw away our trash and keep our town “litter free” and GREEN.
