DARLENE CECILIA GADDY

 

 

Darlene Cecilia Gaddy of Victoria, passed away Friday, September 14, 2018 at the age of 91. She was born in San Antonio on October 5, 1926 to Emil and Josephine (Keilman) Theis.

She met her beloved husband, Wayne during the war at Kelly Field, where he was stationed. She obtained her Associates Degree after attending business college. They stayed in San Antonio where they would start and raise their family. Darlene was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She was a housewife and devout Catholic who instilled in her children and grandchildren the desire to continue being a person of great faith. Her greatest joy was the time she was able to spend caring, nurturing and loving her beloved grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Darlene is survived by her son, Mark Gaddy and wife Diana; daughters, Connie Johnston and husband Louie and Melissa Colley and husband Lester. She is also survived by grandchildren, Kimberly Kuykendall, Gail Beaver, Jennifer Moczygemba, Charles Moczygemba, Kyle Gaddy and Kelsey Moon and great-grandchildren, Trey Beaver, Trent Beaver, Mason Wright, Parker Moon and Austin Kuykendall.

Darlene is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wayne Gaddy; parents, Emil and Josephine Theis and her sisters, Elizabeth Haller and Florence Rains.

Visitation will be conducted at Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton on Monday, September 24, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a rosary recited at 7:00 pm. A funeral mass will also be celebrated at St. Luke of Loire Catholic Church on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at 11:00 am followed by interment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Pallbearers for Darlene’s service will be Louie Johnston, Lester Colley, Charles Moczygemba, Kyle Gaddy, Trent Beaver, Mason Wright, Tommy Beaver and Ronnie Rains.
