Ms. Tera’s Tap N Toes owner Tera Macmanus has worked hard to get the ballet production Alice! A Ballet Wonderland to come to the Pleasanton ISD’s Douglas Williamson Performing Arts Center. Presented by Alamo Arts Ballet Theatre, the free event will be held this Saturday, April 27 at 7 p.m.

Softball teams advance

Congratulations to our softball teams who are advancing to the playoffs! The Lady Eagles will face Fredericksburg this Friday and Saturday. The Charlotte Trojanettes and Jourdanton Squaws will play on Monday. See pages 5-7C for more info.

Hillbilly Festival and BBQ

Grab your overalls and a rope for your belt and head to the Pleasanton Riverpark for CASA’s Hillbilly Games this Saturday. The fun starts at 10 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m. Barbeque plates are only $6.

Congrats to our Instagram winner

Adam Ramon was the winner of our first Poteet Strawberry Festival Instagram contest. With over 100 entries Adam came out on top. He won a $25 gift certificate to Mane Image in Poteet and a commemorative print of his photo. His photo is featured on page 11A. You can see all the entries via Instagram with tag #strawfest13.

May is upon us

That means that Kidfish is just around the corner! The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is once again sponsoring the event on May 4 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Bring your kids! It also means that St. Andrew Catholic Church picnic is happening as well. Lots of barbeque goodness and the huge auction will be available on Sunday, May 5. Let’s not forget dear, sweet mother. Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 12.
