Pleasanton, TX – Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) will present a Transitional Housing Grant to the Safer Path Family Violence Shelter in Pleasanton, TX on Monday, September 30, from 9:30 am to 10:30am. This $450,000 grant is awarded through the Department of Justices’ Office of Violence Against Women Transitional Housing Grant Assistance Program. The primary purpose of the Transitional Housing Assistance Program is to provide aid to victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking who are homeless, or in need of transitional housing or other housing assistance, and for whom emergency shelter services or other crisis intervention services are unavailable or insufficient. The program supports holistic, victim centered approaches to providing transitional housing services that move individuals into permanent housing.
