The Atascosa County Sheriff’s Office, along with Crime Stoppers, is hoping that a reward of up to $5,000 being offered for one week only will help solve a burglary located in the 2900 block of FM 3006; located 3 miles north of Pleasanton on US 281, 2.5 miles east on FM 3006.
On Friday, September 24, 2021, at around 1:30 p.m., sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 2900 block of FM 3006 for a burglary. Upon the deputies’ arrival they were informed by a family member that the residence was broken into. The family member stated the property caretaker was at the property at 5:30 a.m. and everything was secure. When he arrived at around 12:45 p.m. he discovered the property gate was forced open and the door to the residence was damaged. The residence was ransacked and it was apparent that property was missing. Four firearms were missing from inside the residence: a Ruger .357 magnum revolver, a Remington 12-gauge shotgun, a Remington 12 gauge pump action shotgun and a Ruger .22 LR revolver. Upon further inspection of the property, a Pace 16-foot cargo trailer was also taken. The cargo trailer was filled with merchandise and saddles. The saddles were described as a Blue Ribbon show saddle, a Ryan 14 inch roping saddle, a Ryan 15 inch roping saddle, a Heart of Texas 14-roping saddle, two 12-inch Heart of Texas roping saddles, a 12-inch barrel saddle, an American Saddlery roping saddle, a used kids saddle, a Billy Cook 16-inch barrel saddle, a Bird roping saddle along with 20 pieces of horse tack and bits. The cargo trailer also held four glass top cases filled with approximately 100 pieces of jewelry. The property stolen was valued at over $35,000.
