Though the 49th Cowboy Homecoming isn’t until October 24-25, it is almost time to elect a queen and her court.
But first, the young ladies must pick up an application and return it by the special meeting to be held at 7 p.m. July 31.
Who can apply? Pleasanton High School juniors or seniors who maintain at least a 70 grade average in each class and those who can adhere to the rules.
Cowboy Homecoming royalty consists of a queen, four princesses and a duchess. These ladies represent not only the chamber, but the entire community.
While they are busy with the two-day event in October, it doesn’t stop there. They also help out with various events throughout the year – such as attending other parades and festivals and helping with holiday events, Turn-n-Burn as well as the Taste of Atascosa.
Parents and candidates must attend the meeting on July 31. A code of conduct must be signed before participating.
Voting will be held two days – September 5 and 6 at the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce log cabin office, 605 Second St.
