Thank you to all who attended the Longhorn Museum Dinner and Silent Auction at the Museum. If you attended you enjoyed our speaker, Native American Indian Mr. Isaac Cardenas. Mr. Cardenas gave a most enjoyable talk. We had fun! We want to thank our members who sold tickets and contributed items for the silent auction and those wonderful Pleasanton businesses who donated items for the silent auction.
We have two events coming up in December and want you to mark your calendars to save the dates.
First is the Christmas Concert at the Museum with music by the County Line Community Band on Sunday, Dec. 4, at 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Come, sit back, relax and enjoy an old fashioned concert of music of the season. We will have refreshments for you to enjoy as you listen to the band. Bring your friends and relatives on Sunday, Dec. 3 and get in the spirit of the Christmas Season.
Next is our regular meeting to be held on Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m. in the Longhorn Museum. The program will be about the founders of the museum, Mona and Ben Parker. Now Dr. Parker was quite an entrepreneur and adventurous man who worked hard in the Pleasanton community. You may know story, but we will learn “the rest of the story” from his daughter and granddaughter and they certainly will have “the rest of the story.”
As always, we invite and want all citizens of Atascosa County to attend our meetings and special functions. We need your support, so mark you calendars to save these two dates: Sunday, Dec. 4 at 2 p.m. for the concert and Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. for a wonderful program and meeting. Hope to see you!
